    Executes multi-sectoral action in order to eradicate malnutrition in children under five with an emphasis in children with less than two years of age; it is part of the Social Protection Policy and Comprehensive Community Development. It was implemented in 2006 by the National Council of Food and Nutrition.  In 2011, the Program had a budget of USD$41,750,000.

    The National School Feeding Program, implemented in 2012 by the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, is intended to provide food service quality, suited for local consumption habits, co-managed with the community, sustainable and healthy for children in initial levels of education from the ages of 3 and for primary levels of basic education in public educational institutions. The program operates throughout the national territory divided into eight food regions, each with a shared culinary identity, according to their geographical, social, cultural, economic and ecological characteristics.

    Programa Nacional para la Erradicación del Trabajo Infantil

    Program implemented since 2005 for prevention, intervention and protection of children and youths who perform agricultural economic activities in public spaces, brick factories, and landfills; the ultimate goal is to eliminate child labor. The program provides conditional cash transfers, health and nutrition services, food aid and facilities for childcare. The initiative is run by the National Secretariat for Childhood and Youths.

    Programa Alimentario Nutricional Integral

    Responds to the need to fight malnutrition in the country, and provides a set of activities in regards to nutritional support, with a focus on preventive and recovery strategies in order to benefit of children under the age of 5 and underweight pregnant women underweight up to 3 months after giving birth. Since 2005, under the responsibility of the National Institute of Food and Nutrition, the program provides nutritional supplements and nutritional training for beneficiary families.

    It is a Program that is the responsibility of the President of the Republic; it protects the poorest families of the Dominican Republic, and contributes towards the wealth of its human and social capital by providing conditional cash transfers, in order to ensure a minimum consumption for these families and ensure their access to basic health and education services. Families also receive socio-educational accompaniment that promotes individual and collective empowerment and promotes their development process.
