About the program

It is a Program that has been implemented since 1993 and executed by the Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social (INSS). It is a monthly non-contributory pension targeted for informal rural workers in Brazil and part of the General Social Security System (RGPS). It benefits older women aged 55 and men over 60 who serve as informal rural workers, giving them the sum of USD 300 per month. In 2012 it benefited 5,820,780 informal workers in Brazil.

Retirement pension

It is a non-contributory Program that provides targeted retirement pensions for informal rural workers in Brazil and is a part of the General Social Security System (RGPS).The minimum age for men is 60 years, while women are entitled to receive this transfer at 55 years of age. It benefits the rural population of the country and is a part of the General Social Security System (RGPS). It benefits women over 55 and men over 60 who serve as informal rural workers, giving them the sum of $ 300 USD per month.

Target population
  1. Seniors living in rural or urban areas of up to 50,000 inhabitants which comply with economic performance in rural areas or artisanal fisheries.
  2. Disabled persons in rural areas.
