About the program

This is a Program that provides conditional cash transfers through the delivery of a voucher of BOB 200 (USD 28) per year to encourage enrollment, retention and completion of the school year for children in the first five (5) years of primary school, within public educational units throughout the national territory. The program was implemented in 2006 by the Ministry of Education. It is part of the Social Protection Policy and Integral Community Development.

The program delivers an annual voucher of BOB 200 (USD 28) to public school students assisting formal, alternative and / or special education.

Target population
  • Regular Education Subsystem: All students who are enrolled and studying at the Vocational Primary Community Education Level and Productive Secondary Community Education within the Educational Fiscal Units and Fiscal Agreements throughout the Plurinational State of Bolivia, corresponding to the Regular Education Subsystem.
  • Special Education Subsystem: All students, regardless of age or grade, who are enrolled and receive educational care Fiscal Special Education Centers and under Fiscal Agreements of the Alternative and Special Education Subsystem, except for students that are Vocational Primary Community Education Level of the Regular Education Subsystem. These entities must be registered in the National Registry of Educational Units (RUE).

Normative framework

Decreto Supremo 28899/2006, instituye el subsidio de incentivo a la permanencia escolar denominado “Bono Juancito Pinto” en el marco de la Política de Protección Social y Desarrollo Integral Comunitario del Plan Nacional de Desarrollo – PND. Decreto Supremo 29321/2007, modifica y complementa el Decreto Supremo Nº 28899 de 26 de octubre de 2006. Decreto Supremo 29246, establece la Política de Protección Social y Desarrollo Integral Comunitario. Decreto Supremo 1748/2013, establece la cobertura, el financiamiento y mecanismo financiero para la ejecución y entrega del subsidio de incentivo a la permanencia escolar denominado Bono "Juancito Pinto", para la gestión 2013. Resolución Ministerial N° 692/2013, establece el Reglamento de entrega 2013. Resolución Ministerial N° 719/2013, establece el Periodo de Entrega 2013. Resolución Ministerial N° 718/2013, aprueba el Reglamento de Fideicomiso para la administración y entrega del Bono.
