Governance scheme and FNS policy coordination in Haiti

The Coordination Nationale de la Sécurité Alimentaire is the body responsible for FSN. It is a two-tier structure:

  1. The Conseil de la Sécurité Alimentaire Interministériel (CISA) works at a decision-making level, comprised of the 5 highly involved ministries: Agriculture, Health, Finance, Trade and Planning; the Ministry of Agriculture leads the Council.
  2. The Bureau d'Appui Technique (CNSA) works at a technical level.
Functions and attributions
  1. To define, guide and harmonize activities of the different stakeholders from the food security sector in Haiti.
  2. Monitor and evaluate the situation of food security and actions (programs and projects) during implementation.
  3. Disseminate information on the evolution of food security and form an opinion on the subject.
  4. Propose policies and food security strategies.
